When reconditioning casings and straps, scratches are removed using polishing machines, Dremel and/or abrasive fleeces.

It is important to ensure that the matt areas have the correct grain. For polished areas, it is important that no shimmer is visible and that a streak-free polish is achieved.

When refurbishing, you should always pay attention to the original shape of the watch and the original surface quality.

Refurbishing vintage watches is often not easy. Since stainless steel processing was not yet widespread at the time and the processing methods were still very expensive, coated materials such as brass were used. These were often gold-plated or chrome-plated.

It is also common to leave the watch in its current condition and only clean the case/strap. After all, such a watch should tell the story it has experienced with its appearance.
